War of the Gods
A Barbarian|Ranger seeking his past and present self
Basajaun ‘the lord of the woods’ was classically trained by Elvish warriors who taught him how to wield two blades at once with an efficiency rarely seen. Basajaun showed amazing strength and grace with the blade learning various maneuvers designed to strike fast to eviscerate foes. He was seen by many as a master of the blade, but to the dismay of his teachers Basajaun was unable to keep his calm in many sparring events possessing an unbridled rage that often took control acting as a guide for his blade. Over time practice has taught Basajaun to control the rage, however, in times of extreme duress Basajaun finds himself being taken over by a fit of rage and seething with anger which he is able to channel against his foes.

Basajaun spent most of his childhood and teenage years being raised by who he believed was his half elf mother Aleena, who was actually appointed his guardian by the community of elves nearly two decades ago. Basajaun was raised by the community being accepted despite his human heritage as one of their own. He was taught the ways of the Elves learning to be one with himself and nature and to blend in with his surroundings and perceive the events around him with great clarity.
Basajaun vaguely remembers his childhood having suppressed many of his memories from his earliest years. He recalls growing up in a city and an older father figure teaching him the classic in rhetoric and debate, but beyond this cannot seem to remember much more. He is prone to nightmares of past events and rarely sleeps more than a few hours at a time. He is quick to temper when pressed about his childhood driven by an unknown rage and quickly leads to anger as he cannot remember or process his childhood. He always assumed Aleena brought Basajaun to the woods to escape from what presumably he always thought was his father.
Despite Basajaun’s acceptance within the community he never really felt at home and remained conflicted, haunted by nightmares and an unknown past. Basajaun also resented Aleena for taking away his father and for her unwillingness to discuss the past events. He never seemed to get any answers from his mother and, despite her tenderness; Basajaun felt distant having a greater connection with an unknown father figure than his mother. Tormented and a lone human in an Elven settlement, Basajaun decided to seek life a new and forge a present and a future if he could not have a past.
On the night of his departure Aleena secretly followed Basajaun to the forest’s edge where she confronted Basajaun and recounted a story of a young boy coming to the woods nearly two decades ago. She retold the story of the sacrifice of a half elf named Adranda who brought a young boy to the woods only to succumb to her wounds sustained during the flight from a distant city. She retold how she was appointed the child’s guardian and how the elves renamed the boy Basajaun or ‘lord of the woods’ as he was said to be from noble origin. Aleena exclaimed with tears in her eyes that she was only trying to protect the boy from seeking his past as the half elf Adranda spoke of great evil in her delirious state before parting this world.
In seeking a future Basajaun was confronted with his past, though one he could not recall nor remember. Troubled and conflicted with Aleena’s revelations, Basajaun set off into the plains towards the town of Willow’s End seeking his past and present self.
