War of the Gods
The town of Hillfort is perhaps the most curiously-named settlement, given that it is neither on a hill nor in any way a fort. Hillfort is a reasonably prosperous town, famous for its crops of rice, which grow in the paddies along the Great River. The regent, Governor Remus, and his Master-at-Arms, Commander Tiryth, are normally found in the manor. The Persimmon Inn, owned and operated by Gemen Durendall, is the most popular alehouse and hostel in town. The general store and outfitters, River Post, is owned by a dwarven couple, Armeth and Varelsa Shardent. The Temple of Pelor is presided over by the Sun Priest Devahn. Shrines to Avandra, Kord and Ioun are located at the main entrance to the town.
